So when we avoid dairy products, where do we get our calcium? ALL whole plant foods contain calcium, although green leafy veggies & beans have the most. Even better, the calcium in plant foods is more absorbable. In the past, research done in the 50’s on puppies & rats gave the phytates in plant foods a bad reputation.  However current research done on humans shows the opposite: that people who eat the most beans & phytates tend to have the strongest bones. Of course, regular weight-bearing exercise is also necessary to keep our bones strong.
