There are many good reasons to avoid dairy products. It is high in IGF1 with promotes normal growth in babies but weight gain & cancer in adults. Dairy products are also high in saturated fat & cholesterol which promote heart disease, the second leading cause of death in Canadians. Dairy products have high levels of estrogen & persistent environmental toxins such as PCB’s & dioxins, even when they are organic. Dairy products are very low in iron and contribute to anemia in premenopausal women. The small amount of iron dairy has is heme-form which is inflammatory in the human body. Whole plant foods have NON-heme-iron which is anti-inflammatory for us. In cheese, massive amounts of salt are added which can play havoc with blood pressure & increase risk of kidney stones. Approximately 70% of adults around the world are lactose intolerant. And lastly although maybe one of the worst issues is that dairy products have zero fiber. Dietary fiber helps us escort excess cholesterol & hormones out of our bodies.
