Surviving and Preventing Cancer
One of the most important reasons to avoid dairy products is the casein which is a natural protein found in milk. When fed to babies for the first few months of their lives when they need to grow quickly, it promotes normal growth. But when consumed by adults who have finished growing, casein promotes growth of cancer cells. Another issue is that when it combines with stomach acid, it forms casomorphin. As the name suggests, it is a mild natural opioid which is intended to soothe the baby and bond it to its mother. That’s a good thing for mothers & babies but when adults consume it, it’s just addictive. For this reason, giving up dairy products can be challenging. There may be cravings associated with withdrawal initially. It may help to replace it with plant-based milks such as rice, almond or soy. Plant-based milks are all 100% casein-free.
