Surviving and Preventing Cancer
How much of an influence do genes have compared to our lifestyle choices? There search suggests that while there absolutely are genes that can create a predisposition, an even more influential factor is something else that also runs infamilies: learned dietary habits. We know this from studies done on identical twinswho lived very different lifestyles. We know this from studies which monitored thechanges in the health of immigrants who ate a plant-based diet before they arrivedin an affluent nation and then gradually adopted the local eating habits. Last butfar from least, we know this from studies of patients who had rampant chronicdisease of various types including cancer, who halted and even reversed theircondition by switching to a plant-based diet.
