Our meeting on January 13th began with laughter as Dana Brynelsen read another funny story and everyone attending had their chance to contribute with whatever they wished to say. Our guest speaker was Karen Switzer who came to speak to us about pain.
Karen was a Chronic Pain Resource Nurse in Long Term Care on the North Shore. She developed chronic pain herself after an ankle sprain. Through her Pain Specialist she became part of the development of the web based program People in Pain Network (www.pipain.com). They are chronic pain self management support groups, now throughout BC into Alberta. Karen Switzer leads a group in Sechelt at the Senior Activity Centre.
