Historical evidence as well as significant modern scientific research indicates that the traditional “peasant” diet of the working poor based on whole plant foods such as fruit, vegetables, whole grains & legumes (aka beans, peas & lentils) with very few refined foods or animal products, helps prevent common cancers also well as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and more. Even better, it is probably the cheapest way to eat, it tastes good, fills us up & we can eat MORE food when we choose whole plant foods and lose excess weight without even trying.
